Brüdergasse 8, 53111 Bonn where we’ll meet in the chapterhouse.
NB All lectures will be located in the chapterhouse and it is here that teas, coffees, and

Please Note: There will be 10 postgraduate bursaries, €200 each, administered by the
University of Bonn. Please contact Dr Alheydis Plassmann at a.plassmann@uni-bonn.de
for further details. Applicants for the Bonn bursary should send a short account (not
more than 300 words) of their research topic, explaining its significance in the field of
Anglo-Norman Studies. They should also give their
• Name, postal and email addresses, and telephone number
• thesis title and level (master’s or doctoral), and whether full or part-time
• university and department
• supervisor’s name

There will also be three Muriel Brown scholarships offered by the Allen Brown memorial

Applicants for the Muriel Brown bursary should send a short account (not more than
300 words) of their research topic, explaining its significance in the field of AngloNorman Studies. They should also give their

• supervisor’s name
The applicant’s supervisor should also provide an endorsement separately, explaining
why attendance at the conference would be helpful at this stage in their research.
The poster session for postgraduate researchers will again be an important part of the

A buffet lunch is provided each day, including Monday,

Thursday reception has food;
Friday we have booked tables at the Restaurant “Olive”, Brüdergasse 12, 53111 Bonn;
Saturday is a buffet at the Restaurant Opera, Kapuzinerstraße 13, 53111 Bonn;
Sunday we will go to a traditional “Bonn/Rhenish” restaurant: Em Höttche, Markt 4,
53111, Bonn;
The reception on Thursday and the buffet on Saturday will be free, but we would ask you
to pay for your own meal on Friday and Sunday. Please tell us, if you don’t want to
join any meal, because we need to inform the restaurants.
Saturday is our excursion day. We’ll get lunch packets at the Conference Centre when we
return from Cologne. Hopefully, the weather will be nice enough that we can take
them and enjoy the “Hofgarten” or the banks of the Rhine.
Alheydis will give a short tour of the Bonner Münster for anyone who is able to stay
Monday afternoon.
Our first paper, the Allen Brown Memorial Lecture, will be in Rheinische FriedrichWilhelms-Universität Bonn in the main lecture building (The Schloss) (Lecture
Room IX) followed by a substantial reception (Café Unique) meaning that you may
not feel the need to go to dinner afterwards.
The conference then moves to its main location where we will meet each day that the
conference is in session. The main location is the Catholic Students parish situated
at the gothic church St Remigius, Brüdergasse 8, 53111 Bonn where we’ll meet in
the chapterhouse.
